Rajasthan weather alert issued for 15 districts amid weakening monsoon
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in 15 districts of Rajasthan for Friday, with additional rain warnings for 13 districts on August 22. However, forecasts indicate that monsoon activity is expected to weaken across the state starting August 23 for a period of four to five days.
Recent weather patterns have seen rising temperatures and humidity due to decreased rainfall in several areas. Sriganganagar recorded the highest temperature at 40.1 degrees Celsius. Previous rainfall was noted in Dholpur, which received 29 mm, and Jaipur, which recorded 17 mm in certain areas.
The weakening monsoon is attributed to a well-marked low-pressure system over eastern India transitioning into a low-pressure area. While widespread heavy rain is unlikely in the coming week, particularly in the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions, some light rain may occur due to local weather conditions in specific regions.
