Rajeev Ram visits Bengaluru following tennis retirement

Former world No. 1 in men’s doubles and six-time Grand Slam champion Rajeev Ram recently visited Bengaluru, India, following his retirement from professional tennis. During his visit, Ram conducted a tennis masterclass for Grade 11 and 12 students at the Christel House India campus, focusing on fundamentals, technique, and competitive mindset.

In a separate interaction felicitated by the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA), Ram expressed concerns regarding the future of doubles play. He highlighted issues such as prize money cuts and contracted draws, suggesting that the ATP should do more to promote the discipline and its unique team aspects. He also commented on the US Open’s rebranding of mixed doubles, praising the innovation and star power while noting that the format should ideally include the world's top doubles specialists to maintain competitive integrity.
