Rajendra Shukla visits Balaghat to support Baiga families after child deaths

Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Rajendra Shukla visited Machurda village in the Balaghat district to meet with Baiga tribal families following the deaths of children in the community. Shukla assured the affected families of all possible assistance from the state government and emphasized the importance of nutrition, sanitation, and regular schooling.

In response to the situation, the government has initiated several measures, including a special vaccination campaign and house-to-house surveys to identify and treat the sick. Anti-malarial spraying is currently underway in 38 villages within the Birsa block. Shukla also directed officials to station an auxiliary nurse midwife at the Machurda sub-health center to provide local basic healthcare services.

Administrative actions have already been taken, including the transfer of the Balaghat District Vaccination Officer and the removal of the District Malaria Officer. Shukla stated that the deaths of the Baiga children will be investigated, and strict action will be taken against any officials found guilty of negligence.
