Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar assumes charge as Tamil Nadu Governor
Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has formally assumed charge as the full-time Governor of Tamil Nadu at Lok Bhavan in Chennai. Appointed by President Droupadi Murmu on October 12, Arlekar transitions from his role as Governor of Kerala, where he had been holding additional charge of Tamil Nadu since March.
Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is scheduled to meet Arlekar on Thursday to personally convey congratulations. The meeting has sparked speculation regarding a potential state Cabinet reshuffle. Reports suggest discussions may involve changes to ministerial portfolios or the induction of new members, following recent by-elections. Specific ministers, including those overseeing Human Resources, Social Welfare, and Transport, are reportedly under scrutiny as the government considers administrative adjustments.
