Raji al-Sourani receives Hrant Dink International Award
Raji al-Sourani, Director of the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), has been awarded the Hrant Dink International Award. The ceremony took place at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage in Istanbul, Turkey, attended by over 700 guests, including academics, journalists, and civil society representatives.
The award recognizes al-Sourani for his long-standing commitment to documenting human rights violations and pursuing accountability within the occupied Palestinian territories. The foundation cited his ability to maintain legal documentation and speak truth to power despite significant threats, pressures, and sanctions.
This honor follows two other recent international recognitions for the PCHR leadership: the Kim Bok-dong Civil Society Award from South Korea and the upcoming International Human Rights Award from a Spanish foundation scheduled for December 2025. Al-Sourani dedicated the award to Palestinian victims, particularly in the Gaza Strip, noting that the PCHR continues its mission despite the destruction of its offices and the loss of staff members in Gaza.
