Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 secures record ₹160 crore streaming deal

The upcoming Tamil film ‘Jailer 2’, starring Rajinikanth and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has reportedly secured a record-breaking non-theatrical streaming deal worth ₹160 crore. This acquisition marks the largest OTT rights deal in the history of Tamil cinema, surpassing previous records held by films such as ‘Leo’.

Scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15, 2026, to coincide with the Dussehra festival, the sequel features Rajinikanth reprising his role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The cast is expected to include Mithun Chakraborty, Hrithik Roshan, and Vidya Balan, alongside several actors from South Indian film industries. The production is set to release its first single on August 21, 2026.
