Rajiv Kapoor: The career and life of the Kapoor family actor
Rajiv Kapoor, the youngest son of legendary showman Raj Kapoor, experienced a career marked by early success followed by significant professional and personal challenges. He debuted in 1983 with ‘Ek Jaan Hain Hum’ and achieved widespread fame through the blockbuster ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’.
Despite this strong start, his subsequent acting career struggled with a series of unsuccessful films, including ‘Lover Boy’, ‘Aasman’, ‘Zabardast’, and ‘Hum To Chale Pardes’. Some projects, such as ‘Aag Ka Dariya’ featuring Rekha and Dilip Kumar, failed to reach release. Following his difficulties as an actor, he transitioned into directing and producing, working on films like ‘Prem Granth’ and ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’, though these did not achieve major box office success.
His personal life was also marked by hardship. He married architect Aarti Sabharwal in 2001, but the marriage ended in divorce after two years. He remained unmarried for the rest of his life.
