Rajkumar Rao's film 'Prahar' delayed beyond August 7 release
The Bollywood courtroom drama ‘Prahar’, starring Rajkumar Rao and Vamika Gabbi and directed by Avinash Arun, was scheduled to hit Indian theatres on 7 August 2026. Producers have now postponed the release, citing a crowded box‑office calendar that includes the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Spider‑Man: Brand New Day’ and other high‑profile Indian films such as ‘Bhatwara 1947’ and ‘Aawaraapan 2’. Stakeholder discussions also highlighted insufficient promotional time before the original date. No new release date has been announced.
‘Prahar’ is based on the high‑profile cases of noted lawyer Ujjwal Nikhm, depicting legal battles surrounding the 1993 Mumbai bombings and the 26/11 attacks. The decision to delay was taken to avoid competition and provide the film a better window for audience reach.
