Rajnath Singh hails 1,000-unit blood donation drive for Indian Army
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised donors participating in the ‘Sindoor-Army Maha Blood Donation Yatra’ at the Army Base Hospital in Delhi Cantonment. The campaign resulted in a reserve of 1,000 units of blood dedicated to supporting Indian Army personnel, particularly those serving on the borders.
Singh described the initiative as “the greatest service to the nation,” noting that it provides reassurance to soldiers and their families that the country stands behind them. He linked the campaign to “Operation Sindoor,” which he characterized as a response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam that involved strikes against terror bases in Pakistan. Singh stated that while Operation Sindoor represented a dimension of valour, this blood donation journey represents a “dimension of compassion.”
