Rajnath Singh links Lucknow development to Uttar Pradesh progress
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has highlighted the connection between the development of Lucknow and the broader progress of Uttar Pradesh. During a foundation-laying ceremony for 12 projects in the Lucknow Cantonment, Singh emphasized that these initiatives—which include improvements to water supply, healthcare, education, and traffic management—are part of a commitment to creating a model cantonment and contributing to the goal of a developed India.
Singh also noted the renaming of several markets within the Lucknow Cantonment, replacing British-era names with those of prominent Indian freedom fighters and national figures, such as Ekta Bazar and Mangal Pandey Bazar, to better connect future generations with India’s heritage.
In a separate address at the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University convocation in Lucknow, Singh urged students to contribute to the ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision by 2047. He emphasized the importance of using constitutional and democratic methods rather than violence to address injustice, citing Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s principles. He encouraged continuous learning and adaptability to navigate a rapidly changing technological landscape.
