Rajo Laurel to headline Fashion Week Asia with retrospective show

Filipino designer Rajo Laurel will headline the inaugural Fashion Week Asia with a retrospective collection titled ‘Archivo’. The show, scheduled for October 24 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, will feature reworked pieces from Laurel’s extensive archive dating back to 1993.

Laurel described the project as an exploration of his own design language, revisiting recurring motifs, silhouettes, and textures through a contemporary lens. The collection includes garments, films, and photographs preserved over his 33-year career.

Fashion Week Asia aims to position the region as a global creative hub, featuring designers from Vietnam, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Malaysia. Laurel expressed his desire for the event to showcase Filipino fashion to an international audience.
