Rajouri District Judo Championship promotes youth discipline

The District Judo Championship is currently being held at the Indoor Complex of the Sports Stadium in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. The event aims to encourage children to engage in sports to promote physical fitness, discipline, and personal development while providing an alternative to negative influences such as drug abuse and mobile phone addiction.

Participants include children from various schools and clubs across junior and senior levels, with some as young as three years old participating in warm-up sessions. The championship also places a specific emphasis on increasing participation among girls, focusing on teaching self-defence techniques to build confidence and personal safety skills.

The competition serves as a platform for young athletes to gain competitive experience, with the goal of preparing talented judokas to represent the Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, and India in future high-level competitions.
