Rajpal Yadav’s Properties to Be Auctioned Over Rs 16 crore Loan Default

The Central Bank of India has issued auction notices for two mortgaged properties owned by Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav. The online auction is scheduled for 9 September 2026. The bank says Yadav owes more than Rs 16.61 crore, with the two properties valued at roughly Rs 3.19 crore combined. One property is on Kutchery Road in Shahjahanpur city, Uttar Pradesh, and the other is a village plot nearby; a third asset in Mumbai’s Bandra‑Kurla Complex is also under review.

Yadav originally borrowed the loan in 2012 to finance his directorial venture, the film “Aata Pata Laapata,” which failed at the box office. The loan default has been linked to a long‑running cheque‑bounce case. In July, the Delhi High Court sentenced Yadav to three months’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1.05 crore, while also ordering his wife, Radha Yadav, to pay Rs 5.51 lakh to the complainant. A stay has temporarily halted the jail term, but the bank’s recovery proceedings continue.
