Rajshahi Education Board suspends student results over exam fraud

The Rajshahi Education Board has suspended the HSC results of Mehedi Hasan, a student from Ideal College in the Belpukur area, following an investigation into examination malpractice.

The investigation confirmed that the student was invited to the home of Sekendar Ali, a lecturer and examiner at Haji Jamir Uddin Safina Mohila Degree College, to rewrite answers for his English second paper. This occurred after the student reportedly provided his mobile number on his answer script. The investigation found evidence that the student was given a second opportunity to answer questions for which he had previously received no marks, and evidence of alterations in the answer script was also discovered.

Following the findings of a five-member investigation committee, the board has banned Sekendar Ali from evaluating exam scripts for life. The matter has been referred to the Ministry of Education for further action.
