Rakhee Gulzar celebrates birthday as Jackie Shroff shares nostalgic tribute

Veteran actress Rakhee Gulzar is celebrating her birthday on August 15. To mark the occasion, actor Jackie Shroff shared a nostalgic photograph of her from her era as a leading actress on Instagram, offering his heartfelt wishes.

Born in 1947 in West Bengal, Rakhee established a significant career in both Bengali and Hindi cinema between the 1970s and 1990s. She is a recipient of the Padma Shri and various national awards. Her film career began with the 1967 Bengali film ‘Vadhuvaran’ and transitioned to Bollywood with ‘Jeevan Mrityu’.

Following her marriage to lyricist Gulzar in 1973, she had a daughter, Meghna Gulzar. Her final acting role was in the 2003 project ‘Shubh Muhurat’, for which she received a National Award. She currently resides at her farmhouse near Panvel.
