Rakuten and Japan Housing Finance Agency partner on mortgage point program
Rakuten Group and the Japan Housing Finance Agency have announced a partnership to launch a new service called ‘Flat Sumairu Points’ starting October 1, 2026. The initiative aims to support citizens in acquiring homes amid rising prices and interest rates.
Under the program, users of the ‘Flat 35’ fixed-rate mortgage (including purchase and guarantee types), as well as ‘Flat 20’ and ‘Flat 50’ loans, can earn Rakuten Points. The ‘Thank You Benefit’ offers between 2,000 and 150,000 points based on the loan amount. Additionally, a ‘Childbirth Benefit’ of 20,000 points is available for those who have a child after taking out a Flat 35 loan. Participants can also earn points by completing specific surveys.
