Rakuten Black Card to offer up to 3.2% reward points on investment accumulation
Rakuten Securities and Rakuten Card have announced an increase in the reward point rate for investment trust accumulation payments made with the ‘Rakuten Black Card’.
Starting with accumulation purchases in January 2027 (for settings made on or after November 13, 2026), the point reward rate will rise from a flat 2.0% to a maximum of 3.2%. To qualify for the 3.2% rate, cardholders must have an annual shopping expenditure of 4 million yen or more on their Rakuten Card during the previous calendar year. For those spending less than 4 million yen, the rate will remain at 2.0%.
The increased rate applies to investment trusts where the agency commission (the portion of the trust fee received by the distributor) is 0.4% or higher per year. For funds with an agency commission below 0.4%, the reward rates will vary between 0.5% and 2.0% depending on the card type. With a monthly accumulation limit of 100,000 yen, the 3.2% rate allows users to earn a maximum of 38,400 Rakuten Points annually.
