Rakuten expands autonomous robot delivery service to Toyosu

Rakuten Group has expanded its unmanned delivery service, which utilizes autonomous robots to deliver goods, to the Toyosu area in Koto City, Tokyo. As of September 10, 2026, the service covers Toyosu 1-5 chome and parts of 6 chome, providing access to approximately 17,000 households.

With this expansion, the service now includes 14 new local stores, bringing the total to 44 participating locations. The robots deliver over 9,500 items, including groceries, restaurant meals, cafe sweets, and daily necessities. The delivery fee is set at 100 yen, with delivery windows ranging from 30 minutes to six days in advance.

By adding Toyosu to its existing coverage in Harumi, Tsukishima, Kachidoki, and Tsukuda, Rakuten now covers more than 50,000 households across the waterfront areas of Chuo and Koto cities. The company continues to refine its delivery management systems and collaborate with local partners to establish robot waiting areas and charging stations to improve operational efficiency and address labor shortages in last-mile logistics.
