Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo to feature Filipino designers and global brands
Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo Spring Summer 2027 is scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 5, 2026. The event features a diverse lineup of domestic and international brands showcasing new collections.
As part of the 70th anniversary of Philippine-Japanese relations, the brand Bench is bringing three Filipino designers—Rhett Eala, Joey Samson, and Jaggy Glarino—to the Tokyo showcase. Their collection, titled 'Threads of Dreams,' integrates Philippine textiles and history with Japanese influences such as kimono fabrics and pottery.
Other featured designers at the event include Yoshio Kubo, who is presenting a 'Natural Born Nomads' theme, and Seivson, which has announced a collaboration with Juicy Couture. Additionally, Enfold will incorporate architectural concepts and drawings by artist Tatsuya Yamaguchi into its presentation.
