Viking FK advances to Champions League after defeating Dinamo Zagreb
Viking FK has secured a place in the Champions League after defeating GNK Dinamo Zagreb in the playoff second leg. Following a 2-2 draw in the first leg in Croatia, the Norwegian side won 3-1 in Stavanger, resulting in a 5-3 aggregate victory.
Dinamo Zagreb took an early lead in the 10th minute through a goal by Arbër Hoxha. However, Viking responded via a Zlatko Tripic penalty in the 18th minute. The momentum shifted decisively at the start of the second half when Edvin Austbø scored in the 48th minute, followed quickly by a third goal from Tobias Moi to seal the win.
As a result of this defeat, Dinamo Zagreb will move to the Europa League league phase. The draw for the Europa League group stage is scheduled to take place in Monaco on Friday.
