Raków Częstochowa stadium project receives preliminary conservation approval

The Silesian Voivodeship Conservator of Monuments has issued a preliminary approval for the construction of a new Raków Częstochowa stadium on the Elanex site in Częstochowa. The decision allows for the demolition of unused industrial halls from the 1950s and 1960s, provided that specific historic buildings—including the administration building, boiler house, and water tower—are preserved and adapted for stadium-related functions such as offices, gastronomy, or technical use.

Following the leak of this document, Raków Częstochowa released a strong statement expressing frustration with local authorities. While the club acknowledged that the conservator's position removes a major obstacle to the Elanex location, they criticized the city administration for a lack of concrete decisions and schedules. The club stated, “We have had enough of misleading Raków, its fans, and the residents of Częstochowa,” demanding actionable timelines rather than further promises. Notably, the club identified Deputy President Łukasz Kot as the only city official showing a genuine will to complete the project, though they emphasized that responsibility lies with the entire municipal leadership.
