Raúl Jiménez scores penalty on Wolverhampton return
Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez marked a successful return to Wolverhampton Wanderers by scoring a late penalty to secure a 2-2 draw against Blackburn Rovers in the Championship. Entering the match in the 59th minute, Jiménez helped stabilize the team after Blackburn had overturned an early lead established by Marshall Munetsi.
The decisive goal came in stoppage time (90+3') after a handball in the box. This goal marked Jiménez's first for the club in 1,311 days. The match at Molineux Stadium was also characterized by a strong emotional connection between the player and the supporters, who greeted him with the traditional chant ‘Sí, Señor’.
To express gratitude for the fans' reception, Jiménez and his family provided scarves featuring the ‘Sí, Señor’ phrase for supporters in the South Bank. This return follows Jiménez's recent stint with Fulham and his performance in the 2026 World Cup.
