Raúl Martínez criticizes Dominican security policy

Raúl Martínez, a member of the Political Directorate and head of the Legal Affairs Secretariat of the Fuerza del Pueblo party, has criticized the Dominican government's public security policies. Speaking in Boca Chica, Martínez argued that the police reforms implemented over the last six years have failed to deliver promised transformations.

Martínez highlighted recent violence in the Boca Chica municipality, specifically citing a shooting in the Los Coquitos sector on September 12, as a local manifestation of a national crisis. He stated that the government has lacked the management capacity to implement effective plans to control criminal gangs.
