Raúl Richter faces scrutiny over past infidelity on new dating show

German actor Raúl Richter is participating in the sixth season of the RTL dating show ‘Are You The One? – Realitystars in Love’. The 39-year-old, known for his roles in ‘Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten’ and ‘Notruf Hafenkante’, is seeking a new relationship following his first experience as a single.

During the show's launch, Richter was confronted by fellow contestants regarding his past infidelity toward his former long-term partner, Vanessa Schmitt. While host Sophia Thomalla introduced him as a ‘superstar’ of the season, contestant Daymian Weiß criticized him, labeling him a ‘super-cheater’.

Richter addressed the controversy during a conversation with candidate Michelle Radziejewski, stating, ‘That is why I am not a bad person now,’ before adding self-critically, ‘A little bit, though.’ The infidelity, which led to the end of his seven-year relationship with Schmitt, had been previously discussed in interviews, where Richter described it as a ‘one-time thing’ that Schmitt discovered on her own.
