Raúl Rocha Cantú faces new arrest warrant for money laundering

A federal judge in Mexico has issued a new arrest warrant for Raúl Rocha Cantú, the majority shareholder of Miss Universe, for alleged involvement in organized crime and money laundering. The warrant, issued by Judge Ricardo Alfonso Santos Dorantes of the Federal Criminal Justice Center in Almoloya de Juárez, also includes Rocha Cantú’s son, Mauricio Jesús Rocha Botello, the president of Miss Universe Mexico, along with four other individuals.

According to investigations by the Attorney General's Office (FGR), the group allegedly operated a criminal organization that laundered approximately 3 billion pesos through the Mexican financial system between 2014 and 2025. The scheme reportedly utilized six primary companies—GI Euromex, Impulsora Eagle, Legacy Equity Group, Soluciones Gasíferas del Sur, and two food and beverage operators—to concentrate and move illicit funds.

This marks the second arrest warrant issued against Rocha Cantú. He has been a fugitive since December 2025 following a separate investigation into alleged involvement in arms and hydrocarbon trafficking, after his status as a cooperating witness was revoked.
