Raúl Soto calls for action against threats to Chilean authorities
Raúl Soto, president of the PPD, has called for firm action regarding recent threats directed at Chilean authorities, including a minister and the mayor of San Bernardo. Soto emphasized that such threats must be treated with absolute gravity and urgency to protect the integrity of officials within a democratic state of law.
Soto advocated for increased regulation of these matters, noting that individuals using social media to issue threats should not be able to hide behind anonymity or expect impunity. He also expressed support for the actions taken by the judiciary, police, and the Prosecutor's Office, particularly given the presence of organized crime in the country.
Regarding a proposal by the UDI to include the 'Rechazo' (rejection) process in history curricula, Soto suggested that both constitutional processes should be incorporated into the teaching materials to provide a complete perspective.
