Raúl Ávila Leaves ANSES San Fernando Office, Denies Misuse Allegations

Raúl Ávila, a lawyer and father of Libertarian councilwoman Pamela Ávila, stepped down from his role leading the ANSES office in San Fernando, Buenos Aires Province, after serving since the start of President Javier Milei’s administration. The departure, effective in late July, coincided with media reports alleging that Ávila used ANSES pension‑beneficiary data to steer private clients to his law firm. Ávila rejected the claims, stating that his exit was simply a reassignment to another function within the agency and that he had ceased any private pension‑related activity. He also said the Ministry of Human Capital, headed by Sandra Pettovello, approved the change after reviewing internal records, though neither ANSES nor the ministry released an official statement confirming the accusations.

Ávila emphasized that his work remained transparent and that no political motives justified the circulating rumors. The controversy highlights ongoing scrutiny of public‑sector officials linked to the Milei government.
