Raleigh offers free mud festival and lactation support sessions
Raleigh’s Walnut Creek Wetland will host the 8th Annual Mud Day Festival on August 15, featuring a large mud slide, environmental games, food trucks and free parking. The three‑hour event, open to all ages, aims to celebrate local wetlands while teaching visitors about wetland conservation.
The Wake County Health Department’s Best Baby Wake program is also providing a series of free lactation‑related activities, including the Golden Hour support group on August 6 and Breastfeeding 101 on August 13. Sessions are bilingual and target pregnant families and new parents, offering guidance from doulas and public‑health professionals.
