Ralf Rangnick says lack of clarity halted Milan coaching talks

Austria national team coach Ralf Rangnick confirmed that talks with AC Milan collapsed because the club did not provide a definitive response in time. He said a contact was made about three weeks ago, but he needed a clear answer before the start of the World Cup to respect his responsibilities to the team, the federation and his players. Rangnick also denied any demands on his part, stating he never made requests of either Milan or the Austrian football federation. He has now renewed his contract with Austria through 2027, with an option to extend to 2028 if the team qualifies for the Euro championships, and will lead the side at the June 17 World Cup match against Jordan.
