Ferrari becomes center of F1 controversy following Christian Horner comments

Former Red Bull Racing principal Christian Horner has sparked significant controversy within the Formula 1 paddock after publicly stating that joining Ferrari would be his “dream.” Horner, who left Red Bull in July 2025, described the Italian manufacturer as the “sleeping giant of Formula 1” in an interview with The Times.

Ferrari’s current team principal, Fred Vasseur, expressed frustration regarding the speculation, noting that such rumors create a disruptive environment. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali also weighed in, advising against “fanciful solutions” and urging stability for the team during difficult periods.

Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher has been highly critical of Horner’s approach, labeling the public self-promotion as “embarrassing” and “a disgrace.” Schumacher suggested that Horner may be using the publicity to promote his upcoming autobiography, ‘DRIVE,’ and criticized his recent comments regarding former Red Bull colleagues.
