Ralf Schumacher undergoes shoulder surgery after TV accident

Former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher underwent shoulder surgery following an accident during Stefan Raab’s television show, ‘Jetski Star-WM’. While attempting to right a capsized jet ski, Schumacher dislocated his shoulder and broke off a piece of bone. Doctors used three anchors to fix the bone during the procedure.

Schumacher reported that he is already beginning rehabilitation and hopes to return to his role as a Sky Formula 1 expert at the Monza race weekend, though doctors estimate a full recovery could take between three to eight months.

Beyond the injury, Schumacher expressed significant frustration toward moderator Laura Wontorra. He described her behavior as ‘overstepping’ after she conducted an interview with him immediately following the accident while he was visibly trembling from intense pain. Schumacher specifically criticized a comment she made comparing his injury to incidents seen on ‘Ninja Warrior Germany’, calling the comparison inappropriate given his pre-existing shoulder issues.
