Rali Ceredigion returns to Wales for European Rally Championship
The JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigion is scheduled to take place from September 4 to 6, serving as the penultimate round of the European Rally Championship (ERC) and the final asphalt event of the season. Hosted in Aberystwyth and crossing the Welsh counties of Ceredigion and Powys, the rally has received a record 149 entries.
Championship leader Teemu Suninen enters the event with a 25-point advantage, seeking to secure the title before the final gravel round in Portugal. Suninen faces the challenge of his first appearance at this rally, compounded by potential rain and new course changes, including two night stages. Meanwhile, five-time WRC winner Kris Meeke makes a notable return to the ERC driving a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2.
Ceredigion County Council is promoting the event as a significant economic opportunity, encouraging spectators and teams to support local businesses, shops, and restaurants. While temporary road closures will be in effect, local town centers and markets are expected to remain operational.
