Rally da Madeira mascot Simão urges Funchal to stay clean

The environmental mascot Simão appeared at the Rally da Madeira autograph session in the Casino da Madeira, accompanied by Funchal city councilor Paula Jardim Duarte. Simão reminded spectators and drivers that supporting the rally must be paired with respect for public spaces and proper waste handling.

The Câmara Municipal do Funchal’s Environment Department will hold a sensitisation activity at the Parque Ecológico do Funchal on 30 July, and Simão will make a public appearance before the first special stage on Avenida do Mar. The municipality is also bolstering waste management with additional eco‑points, non‑segregated waste containers, and a trophy for the most sustainable team in the competition.
