Italian rally events feature Olympic athletes and major regional competitions
Several major rally events are scheduled across Italy. At the 23rd Rally Italia Sardegna, Olympic gold medalists Filippo Tortu, Lorenzo Patta, and Roberto Rigali will serve as guest co-drivers during the shakedown in Olmedo-Monte Baranta.
In Elba, the XXXVIII Rallye Elba Storico – Trofeo Locman Italy will take place from September 24 to 26. The event, valid for the FIA European Historic Rally Championship, has prompted local authorities in Capoliveri to implement temporary traffic and parking restrictions. Island Motorsport will field two crews in this historic rally, while the Squadra Corse Città di Pisa will enter six co-pilots into the competition. ACI Sport TV will provide live coverage of the event.
Simultaneously, the 11th Tindari Rally in Sicily will feature 105 entries across modern, historic, and classic categories. Island Motorsport will also participate in this event with nine crews. Notable competitors include Alessio Pollara, Alessandro Casella, and Dario Salpietro, with a strong presence of Skoda Fabia Rally2 vehicles.
