Rallye Villa de Llanes approaches as championship decider

The Rallye Villa de Llanes, the eighth and penultimate round of the Supercampeonato de España de Rallyes (S-CER), is scheduled to take place this coming Thursday through Saturday. The event features 144 timed kilometers across 13 stages and serves as a scoring round for various trophies, including the Copa Hyundai i20N Rally and the Clio Trophy Asfalto.

José Antonio ‘Cohete’ Suárez and co-driver Alberto Iglesias currently lead the championship with 180 points in their Škoda Fabia RS Rally2. They are followed by Diego Ruiloba with 156 points, Iván Ares with 135 points, and Pepe López with 133 points.

Suárez and Iglesias are in a strong position to secure the title; a seventh-place finish in Llanes would mathematically guarantee the championship before the final round in Catalonia. Despite the championship implications, Suárez has indicated he intends to approach the race as a standard competitive event.
