Ralph Carr convicted of rape in Melbourne

Melbourne entertainment and AFL agent Ralph Carr was found guilty by a Victorian County Court jury of two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault relating to an incident in March 2023. The conviction ended a three‑year suppression order that had kept his identity hidden; the order was lifted after Carr withdrew his application for continued protection. Carr, 66, was taken into custody immediately after the verdict and will be sentenced at a later date.

Carr, who has managed high‑profile Australian music artists and AFL star Dustin Martin, co‑owns a real‑estate portfolio with the footballer. Following the verdict, Martin announced he had ended his professional relationship with Carr. The case has drawn attention to the use of suppression orders in Victoria and to Carr’s past business dealings, including the insolvency of his former touring company.
