Ralph Siegel enters Dschinghis Khan for German Eurovision selection

Composer Ralph Siegel has submitted an entry for the German national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. He is proposing a performance by the current lineup of the group Dschinghis Khan.

Siegel, who previously composed the winning song 'Ein bisschen Frieden' for Nicole in 1982, submitted the previously unreleased track just before the September 21 deadline. He noted that the melody came to him following a period of serious illness and a medically induced coma.

Dschinghis Khan achieved international fame in the late 1970s and placed fourth in the 1979 Eurovision Song Contest. While the current group consists of a new generation of performers, the submission aims to leverage the band's legacy. The selection process for the German final will be managed by SWR.
