Ralph Siegel hospitalized again following health setbacks
Renowned German composer and Eurovision Song Contest legend Ralph Siegel has been re-hospitalized due to ongoing health issues. The 81-year-old, who previously spent 18 days in a medically induced coma this summer following a severe case of pneumonia, is once again receiving medical care.
While some reports suggested a return to a coma, Siegel’s office manager, Walter Wicha, clarified to RTL that the composer is breathing independently and is not currently in a coma. Due to his condition, Siegel has been forced to cancel his appearance at the season premiere of his musical, ‘Zeppelin’, at the Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein.
Siegel, known for winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1982 with ‘Ein bisschen Frieden’, has faced a long history of health challenges, including battles with prostate cancer and polyneuropathy. His management stated that his musical projects will continue in his absence as he focuses on recovery.
