Ram ProMaster City returns to U.S. market for 2027

Ram has announced the return of the ProMaster City to the United States market for the 2027 model year. Positioned as the most affordable commercial van in the U.S., the vehicle starts at $39,995 for the base Tradesman Cargo trim, including destination charges.

Built on a Stellantis platform shared with European models like the Citroen Jumpy, the new ProMaster City is larger than its predecessor, measuring approximately 210 inches in length. It is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 166 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The lineup includes Tradesman and SLT trims in both Cargo and Passenger Wagon configurations. Standard features across all models include a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital rearview mirror, and heated front seats. The SLT trim adds premium features such as a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, and front parking sensors.

Designed to fill a gap in the market left by the disappearance of compact vans, the ProMaster City offers 167 cubic feet of cargo volume and a targeted 2,000-pound towing capacity. Deliveries are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
