Ram Mandir donation theft probe recovers vehicles, gold and cash in India

Police in Ayodhya carried out early‑morning raids on locations linked to the Ram Mandir donation theft case after disclosures by main accused Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu. The operations recovered three four‑wheelers – including luxury cars – a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle, gold jewellery, cash, and a cache of financial and property documents such as share‑market investment papers and loan records.

Eight suspects have been arrested so far. A Special Investigative Team highlighted about 70 CCTV incidents showing counting‑staff mishandling cash and noted security lapses at donation counters. The report cited recoveries of roughly ₹78.94 lakh from employees and an additional ₹2.25 lakh from a bathroom area. Investigators say further assets may be uncovered as the probe continues.
