Ram ProMaster City named 2027 Commercial Green Car of the Year

The Ram ProMaster City, a mid-sized light commercial vehicle to be produced at the Tofaş factory in Bursa, Turkey, has been named the ‘2027 Commercial Green Car of the Year’ by Green Car Journal.

Part of the Stellantis K0 platform, the vehicle is a North American version of the model family that includes the FIAT Scudo, Opel Vivaro, PEUGEOT Expert, and Citroën Jumpy. Tofaş is set to resume exports to the United States with this model starting in 2027, marking a return to the U.S. market following the previous Doblo exports.

The new ProMaster City features a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo engine producing 166 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Key specifications include a payload capacity of approximately 986 kilograms, a towing capacity of 907 kilograms, and a loading volume of 4.7 cubic meters. The Green Car Journal highlighted the vehicle’s functionality, safety, and ‘right-sized’ design for professional and fleet users.
