RAM releases new single “Abattoir” ahead of upcoming album

Swedish heavy metal band RAM has released “Abattoir,” the latest single preceding their upcoming full-length album, Against. Scheduled for release on October 9, 2026, through Metal Blade Records, the album marks the band’s first full-length release in nearly seven years.

Vocalist Oscar Carlquist describes “Abattoir” as pure speed metal, drawing comparisons to the sound of Exodus and Accept. While previous works explored metaphysical themes, Against focuses on themes of resistance and defiance. The band aimed for an unpolished, honest sound inspired by classic recording philosophies from artists such as Dio and MSG.

The album release coincides with a significant lineup change. Bassist Tobias “Tobbe” Petterson is stepping down after seventeen years with the band. He will be replaced by Desekrator, formerly of Voodus and Stormdeath. A farewell performance for Petterson is scheduled for October 9 at Skjulet in Gothenburg.
