Ram Temple Trust CEO Selection Draws Record 5,000 Applications

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust announced that more than 5,000 candidates applied for its chief executive officer position, setting a new record for the role. Applications closed on July 18 at 4 p.m., and the pool included retired IAS, IPS and IRS officers, senior Indian Army generals, and senior professionals from administration and management.

A three‑member expert committee – retired Justice Pramod Kohli, Lt General Vishnukant Chaturvedi and former Sain Baba Institute Trust chairman Suresh Havare – will evaluate the submissions, screen candidates, and prepare a shortlist. The appointment follows allegations of misappropriated donations and is intended to tighten financial oversight and improve administrative efficiency at the Ayodhya Ram Temple.

The trust will make the final decision based on the committee’s recommendations and its own selection criteria.
