Ram Temple Trust Sets July 22 Meeting on SIT Report and Leadership
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust announced a meeting of all trustees on 22 July at 4 p.m. in Ayodhya’s Maniram Das camp, with an additional special session scheduled for 3 p.m. the same day. The agenda includes discussion of the final report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on alleged donation theft, consideration of appointing the Trust’s first Chief Executive Officer, confirmation of the minutes from the 6 July meeting, and restructuring of various committees.
The Trust’s treasurer, Govind Dev Giri, said the alleged theft of donations is “shameful” and called for accountability and administrative reforms. Police have interrogated the main accused, Ramshankar Yadav alias “Tinnu,” and his nephew Manish Yadav, following a 39‑hour custody remand, and a total of eight individuals have been arrested so far.
The meeting follows earlier resignations of former officials amid the investigation and aims to restore confidence among devotees and donors.
