Ram Temple Trust urged to reject Champat Rai's resignation amid controversy
Ayodhya's saint community publicly supported Ram Temple Trust secretary Champat Rai, urging the trust not to accept his resignation. The saints said the allegations against Rai are unfounded and highlighted his long‑standing involvement with the Ram Mandir movement.
They welcomed the government‑appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT), describing it as a step toward transparency, and called for answers on the trust’s financial safeguards and the reasons for an early meeting. The trust is scheduled to meet on 6 July to consider the resignations of Champat Rai and another trustee, Anil Mishra, and to discuss donations and alleged fund‑handling issues.
