Ramadan 2027 astronomical dates projected
Astronomical calculations provide preliminary dates for the start of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr in 2027. Based on initial projections, Ramadan is expected to begin around February 7 or 8, 2027.
Official confirmation of the holy month depends on the physical sighting of the crescent moon. In Egypt, Dar al-Ifta coordinates with scientific and astronomical committees to conduct moon sightings on the evening of the 29th of Sha'ban.
If Ramadan lasts 30 days, Eid al-Fitr is projected to fall on March 9 or 10, 2027. Because the Hijri calendar follows a lunar cycle, the timing of Ramadan shifts approximately 10 to 11 days earlier each year relative to the Gregorian calendar.
