Ramatoulaye Diaw arrested in Senegal cybercrime investigation

Ramatoulaye Diaw, known by the pseudonym ‘Ramz Yago’, has been arrested by Senegal’s Special Cybercrime Division (DSC). The arrest took place near the intersection of Avenue Malick Sy and the Corniche following a sting operation by investigators.

The legal proceedings were initiated by the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor's office following a complaint filed by Rokhaya Fall, also known as ‘Rox’. The dispute stems from a video in which Diaw allegedly used virulent language regarding Fall’s deceased mother. Following her interrogation, Diaw was placed in custody for allegedly making statements contrary to public morality.

The prosecutor's office has ordered a confrontation between Diaw and Fall to clarify their respective statements. Additionally, the investigation involves broader legal scrutiny regarding the dissemination of personal data and online conduct.
