Ramayana epic film sets record with $500 million budget

The trailer for "Ramayana," India's most expensive cinematic project to date, has garnered significant attention. The film is being produced in two parts with an estimated total budget of approximately $500 million (roughly 13,100 billion VND).

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, known for the high-grossing film "Dangal," the project aims to provide a large-scale experience through the IMAX format. The visual effects are being handled by DNEG, an Oscar-winning VFX company recognized for its work on Hollywood films such as "Dune" and "Interstellar."

Based on the Sanskrit epic by Valmiki, the story follows Prince Rama, his exile, and his journey to rescue Princess Sita from Ravana, the powerful king of Lanka.
