Ramayana film sparks debate over Sai Pallavi’s portrayal of Sita

The release of Nitesh Tiwari’s film, Ramayana: Part One, has triggered online controversy regarding the portrayal of Sita, played by Sai Pallavi. A specific scene depicting Sita fighting demons alongside Lord Rama, played by Ranbir Kapoor, has faced criticism from viewers who claim the sequence deviates from traditional scriptures, such as the Valmiki Ramayana.

While some social media users have labeled the depiction a distortion of the epic, others have defended the artistic choice, noting that certain versions of the story portray Sita as a strong warrior.

In response to the film's release, actress Rashmika Mandanna expressed her support on social media, praising Sai Pallavi’s appearance as Sita and sharing her excitement for the performances of Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, who portrays Ravana.
