Ramayana trailer sparks global buzz, praise for visuals and cast, and debate over missing Hanuman

Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological epic Ramayana Part 1 released its four‑minute trailer worldwide on 30 July 2026 at the Brahma Muhūrta. The film, budgeted at roughly ₹4,000 crore, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, though Deol does not appear in the preview.

The trailer has generated massive reaction across borders. Pakistani YouTubers such as Maviya Umer Farooqui and Hasnaat Khan praised the scale, VFX and performances, noting the reported budget and Hollywood‑level effects. Indian creators, actors and directors—including Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Rishab Shetty, Nitish Bharadwaj and Ramanand Sagar’s grandson Shiv Sagar—lauded the visual spectacle, music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, and Yash’s portrayal of Ravana.

Critics and fans also voiced concerns: mixed opinions on Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama, costume choices such as Lara Dutta’s saree, and the absence of Sunny Deol’s Hanuman, which sparked speculation that the character may be reserved for Part 2. Overall, the trailer has been described as a “new era” for Indian cinema, while prompting debate over casting and production decisions.
